Memories, Dreams & Flashbacks

Reflections Of A Quiet Storm
Patricia A. Bridewell

As CEO and owner of a new nursing registry, Pauline Bridges is striving to reach the height of success, and then unexpectedly tragedy strikes. After a near fatal automobile accident, she climbs from the wreckage unscathed. Shortly thereafter, God begins to reveal her past. Chronicled in a series of stories, her life unfolds through a long journey; a pathway that unveils many secrets that not even her children had been told. Memories, dreams and flashbacks of her mother's abuse at the hands of her stepfather, a rape during adolescence, her brother's stormy lifestyle, and the agony of a marriage that was destroyed by her ex-husband, Naman's infidelity and substance abuse, all return to torment her. Flaherty's Crossing

From Pacific Northwest's award-winning author Kaylin McFarren comes a powerful novel about love, loss, and the power of forgiveness...

Successful yet emotionally stifled artist Kate Flaherty stands at the deathbed of her estranged father, conflicted by his morphine-induced confession exposing his part in her mother's death. Hope Brings Peace

As I watched the TV this morning, I became aware of the great many tragedies that are occurring all over the world. From the point of view of a concerned Christian, it is hard to see such sorrow and despair written all over the faces of the human beings who have lost their families, their homes and their possessions.

Of course it is hard for Christians and non-Christians alike. But who are we to judge? We cannot know the reasons for this. All we know is that God is in control. He knows all the facts – things which may be hidden under the surface.

Sowing Seeds Of Love

Remember, what we sow, we reap. If we therefore sow seeds of love, we shall reap the same. If we sow seeds of bitterness, bitterness will find us. The questions that we must ask ourselves within this, is how do people treat us? With love or with bitterness.

Living Under The Protection Of The Almighty

When He hears our cry, our Father in Heaven looks upon us with love, grace and mercy. In answer to our prayers, sometimes He takes delight in giving us immediate answers, and sometimes He makes us wait. When this happens, it is for good reason – only He knows what is going on behind the scenes.

Most of the time though, what appears to be delays are only in fact His solutions that we have yet to recognise or acknowledge. We must trust that all our prayers are being answered, all according to God’s will for us. Hosea 14:8 says “I will answer their prayers and take care of them. Like an evergreen tree I will shelter them; I am the source of all their blessings.”

The Fruits of the Spirit

Love seems to be the topic on everyone’s lips. There are many stories, poems, movies and songs written about love. It is what each and every heart desires. When we give love, we are sowing a seed, which germinates and eventually blossoms and returns to us fulfilled. God’s word is love. His word never returns back to us void, which means that with every promise, he will personally see to it that it reaches back to us in its conclusion. Isaiah 55:11 NKJV says “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void. But it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

Forgiveness Of Sins

When praying in the mighty name of Jesus, we must always ask for the forgiveness of our sins. This opens the door to many opportunities for us to come to terms with whatever is going on in our lives. It gives us the opportunity to understand that many of our difficulties have come upon us as a result of sin. Be that as it may, the Lord is always willing to forgive us and wipe the slate clean. Do not take this lightly my friends, because what it means for us is total pardon for every transgression that we have ever committed! The Lord is our friend and saviour and He is willing and able to do this for us as we live according to His word; and because of His great love and mercy for all of mankind.

These Final Days

We are coming into a time beyond all human history that we have never seen before on our planet. There is much mystery surrounding Biblical Prophecy of the so called End Times, and much propaganda too. If we are to live joyous lives amidst all the chaos, then we must rise above all the angst that is being created by television and the media. Everywhere we turn, we see broadcasts of this or that happening somewhere in the world. There is so much negativity out there it is little wonder any of us can get any sleep! And yet, with so little said about the many wonderful things going on here today, one wonders what there is to be joyous about!

God's Love

God’s love is eternal. We see God’s love for us every day, with each sunrise, with the flowers in bloom, and in the very air that we breathe. With God’s love you can move mountains! In the Bible, it says that we can speak to that mountain in our life and it will move out of our way! Mark 11:23 NKJV says “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” How about that for God’s love!

Who You Are In Christ

Please note: these words have been written as though our Lord Jesus is talking directly to you. This is how they formed in my mind - hope you enjoy!

The next topic for discussion is all about “Who You Are in Christ.” Many people fail to realise that it is I who lives in you, and therefore it is I that must rule in your hearts at all times. Galatians 2:20 says “so that it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me.” It is through my unfailing love for you that we walk together hand in hand, one foot after the other, traversing rugged mountain ranges and very high cliff tops, all the while noticing the many miracles and wonderful scenery along the way.

Faith in Miracles

Though many in life may not come to understand the full meaning of what it is to be led by Jesus, nonetheless His love is available for all. For those who truly seek Him there are treasures available beyond compare. It is written in John 8:12 "Whoever follows me will have the light of life and will never walk in darkness." Those who give their life over to Him will experience pure joy and well be led on a journey of miracles and healing. Much will be given to those who put their faith and trust in Him. When you submit your life to Him in full, He is able then to turn your life around.

The Virtues of Kindness and a Sincere Heart

Ridding Depression

Depression is not the answer to life's problems. Depression has a sister who's name is hopelessness.

Yes, we all encounter depression at times. Life and life's circumstances can be overwhelming and sometimes the decisions that we make fall short. Even so, be encouraged because God loves you and there is nothing too big for God. Simply call upon His name, seek His face, pray and talk to Him. After all, as believers we come before a Throne of Grace, not a Throne of Judgement. Make your requests known unto God. For He can deliver you from the spirit of depression and bring about wonderful changes.

These Three Are Powerful

Having mercy on others brings great peace. Not only to others, but also to the merciful. End the end love triumphs and brings change. Change that gives honor and glory to God.
